Leadership Fellows Coordinator Application
The NACA Leadership Fellows Coordinator manages the Leadership Fellows program. This program is an opportunity for NACA members of underrepresented ethnicities to become familiar with the Association’s governance, programs and professional development opportunities at both the regional and national levels. The intent of the program is to help increase the diversity of the Association’s leadership.
Term of Office: Two years, beginning on May 1. The first year would be as the Coordinator-Elect, shadowing the current Coordinator. The Leadership Fellows Coordinator may not serve consecutive terms.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate the Leadership Fellows program, communicating with the Chair of the Board and the Director of Education and Research on status of applicants, selection, progress of program, etc., as needed.
Recruit potential Fellows and Mentors in order to have viable candidates for each region.
Select seven Fellows and Mentors (one from each region), pending approval by the Chair of the Board.
Facilitate the submission of educational sessions highlighting the Leadership Fellows program at the National Convention (note: this session will be presented by the current Fellows/mentors).
Coordinate and facilitate Mentor/Fellow relations.
Communicate regularly with Fellows and Mentors to see how relationship is going.
Be a resource to Mentors and Fellows for information.
Assist with NACA diversity initiatives.
Qualifications:
- The Leadership Fellows Coordinator must be a full-time professional staff member at a member institution, and must maintain that status throughout the course of the term of office.
- The Leadership Fellows Coordinator must have approval from and support of their institution prior to applying for the position (note: support is defined as financial as well as time out of the office, etc.).
